Q: |
What computers or other additional equipment do we need to run CourtScan?
|
|
A: |
All you need is a personal computer with an Internet connection. It
doesn't matter what kind of computer: Windows, Apple, Linux ... and it
doesn't matter what kind of web browser you use. That's it! No database
servers, no software license fees, no massive disk storage,
no maintenace fees.
Lawyers, and courts that wish to scan in documents, will also need
a scanner. CourtScan recommends the Fujitsu 510s, but any modern
scanner should work just fine.

Q: |
Where are our case records and documents stored? Are they Safe?
|
|
A: |
Case data and scanned documents are stored on CourtScan's safe and
secure web hosts with 24x7x365 availability and 99.99% uptime (aside
from scheduled maintenance).
Access is firewall protected. Anti-intrusion
measures are monitored by full-time staff. Courtscan has a 24x7 email
help desk to answer questions and solve problems.
Databases are backed up daily and backups are removed off-site
daily for insurance against catastrophic incidents.

 |
Q: |
Can we retrieve our case data electronically?
|
|
A: |
CourtScan is capable of exporting case data in any format needed:
spreadsheet (CSV), XML tagged, database export files; just about
anything you need. The ability to get your case information whenever
you want is part of CourtScan's standard product.

 |
Q: |
Our court already has a public, case access system. Can CourtScan
integrate with that system?
|
|
A: |
(refer also to the answer above) If your current system provides the
ability to import data, then YES, you can integrate CourtScan's
data with your current system. All you have to do is export your
case data in a format supported by your current system, then import
that information into your current system.
Save time, labor and improve accuracy! CourtScan's case data will
permit you to automatically import basic case information and only
the additional details need to be entered by court staff.
